Big Sky 200 - June 2024

Big Sky 200 - June 19-22 Broadview Montana
For this race, we traveled about 13 hours each way- and made it in on Wednesday morning! We were able to bring both daughters this time, and both puppies! The entire gang was there! We set up camp next to some amazing teams... and did registration. Right before doing a pre-run of the course- Austin hit his head HARD- splitting open his scalp and taking chunks of his hair, pretty sure he had a concussion. But the race goes on.
Pre-run went well. Minor motion sickness, due to not taking their meds early enough... and Austin's incident prior to the run. Overall, pre-run went well, and Marci was able to get some footage from the cliffs. Huge thank you to the land owner, for allowing this race to run. The land was absolutely gorgeous - and we feel very fortunate to have been able to spend time there!

After pre-run was qualifying. Qualifying was.... INTERESTING.
The guys pre-ran the 1 mile qualifying track three times before line up. The race car was overheating, which turned out to be a fluke thing... and by the time qualifying started they were ready to go.
The lap itself was solid, Austin handled the car around the curves and straights with ease, making great time. Unfortunately, he was coming into the finish too hot, and with too little room after the line which ultimately lead to them violently flipping. They landed back on all 4 tires, and thank goodness EVERYONE was ok! Christian was checked by a medic- with possible collar bone crack or severe bruising. (Turned out to be bruising, because homie went white water rafting 5 days later lol). Austin destroyed his glasses, and bruised extensively.

The car, surprisingly wasn't too bad! THANK YOU Polaris RZR! Austin did decide not to run the actual race the next day though, to preserve the car and not cause more damage, incase there happened to be issues not visible without getting it into the garage.
